Edit a Designation Type
A paralegal needs to change the color of a designation type so that it is easier to see when applied to transcripts.
The paralegal can edit a designation type using the Designations Explorer
To edit a designation type from the Designations Explorer, the paralegal opens a case and follows the steps below:
- Open the Designations Explorer.
- Select an designation type in the explorer.
- Click the Edit button in the explorer.
- Change any of the information for the designation type.
- Name - The name to identify the designation type
- Color - The color assigned to help identify the designation type when it appears in a list or a transcript
- Party - The assigned individual or entity responsible for applying the designation type
- Click the Save button.
The paralegal clicks the Designations Explorer tab to open it.
If the explorer is hidden, he can use the Explorer dropdown in the main menu to view it.
Note: Only designation types with applied page and line references in a transcript appear in the explorer.
With the designation type selected, the paralegal clicks the Edit button in the explorer.
The Edit Designation dialog appears.
The paralegal selects a new color for the designation type. He may also change any of the other information in the dialog:
Note: The paralegal can create multiple designation types with the same name, but with a different party assigned.
With the color changed, the paralegal can move on to the next step.
The paralegal clicks the Save button and the changes he made are saved to the designation type he selected.
